Spanish for Business I

Spanish for Business

We are excited about an opportunity to work with local companies to offer Spanish training for entry-level to intermediate Spanish speakers!

Classes are tailored to individuals who interact with Spanish-speaking customers, clients and coworkers. This program was created based on a growing Spanish speaking population in our communities and the need of many local businesses struggling with language barriers that impact customer service, workplace efficiency and overall communication.

Our programs can be customized to help employees in key industries like manufacturing, government agencies, healthcare, hospitality, and much more. By developing practical Spanish skills quickly, the focus is on real work communication, making it easy for employees to apply what they learned immediately. Employees can improve customer experience and satisfaction, reduce miscommunication, and will feel empowered with a valuable skill that enhances teamwork and productivity and shows a commitment to inclusivity and community engagement.

We understand businesses have tight schedules, so our sessions are structured to be convenient and flexible. They can be offered onsite or online and during or after work hours, ensuring employees can participate without disrupting operation.

FAQs

  1. What is the price of the condensed, custom course?
While there's no quick answer, we can explain what goes into determining the price and give you a typical range. The industry you are in, how many participants you have, what content we determine you are looking to include, and where the class is located (and whether or not any are virtual) can have an effect on the price per person. However, we can at least say that a typical 12-week, custom (18-hour) course can range from $450-$500 per person. That's only about $25/hour per person for custom instruction!
*Instructional hours are the hours during which students are engaged in company-directed programs.
  2. What makes the custom course different from the phased learning course?

The simple answer is, a lot! For starters, this option, because it is very condensed, is best suited for participants with some knowledge of the Spanish language already, whereas Option 1 was designed for basic or entry-level Spanish speakers. Additionally, if you choose a condensed, custom course, not only do you have a lot of control over the time of day, the frequency of the sessions and the length of each session, you also can control how many sessions are in person and how many (if any) are virtual. Our instructor will start by researching your company to familiarize himself and understand where the employees are coming from. Then we will want to schedule a tour of your facility so we can see the environment the participants are in as well as the space we would be using for the training. We will also request you and your participants fill out a few questionnaires about the content of the course so we can create each session to suit your needs.
  3. What does a typical condensed, custom course schedule look like?
Custom courses tend to be 12 weeks long (but is based on the amount and type of content gathered through the questionnaires). Sessions that are 1.5 to 2 hours long seem to work the best. We do not recommend late evening courses, unless you have a strict attendance policy
and the sessions are all held in person. Otherwise, these end up being poorly attended.
  4. Do you take attendance?
Yes. If you are the primary contact for your company, you will receive a weekly attendance report for your custom course. If you have multiple participants in a phased course, we will send you periodic attendance reports. **NOTE: We highly recommend establishing an attendance policy for employee training. No matter how valuable and enjoyable the course is, training becomes easy to skip after a long day of work or when it interferes with other time off. Courses that are held during the work day are better attended as well.
  5. What is your add/drop policy?
For custom courses, we will establish a per person rate based on a number of factors — one of which is the number of attendees you tell us you will have. You will then receive an estimate for you to review. Once you have signed the estimate, participants may drop with no refund and you may add students at the established rate.
